Overseas Calls
Students always search for the cheapest phone deals. As many of StudentBees users are international students who call home regularly, we have reviewed all the overseas calling cards out there (listed on http://melbourneconnect.com.au/) and found out that Optus $10 prepaid recharge cards have the best deals. It has three international calling zones as follows:
– International Zone A: to call to Canada, China, Hong Kong, India Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, USA, Vietnam. With $10, you will have 200 minutes of talk (5c per minute without connection fee).
– International Zone B: to call to Cambodia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sudan, UK. $10 of calling value at 16.67c per minute.
– International Zone C: France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Kenya, Lebanon, Nepal, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, Turkey or United Arab Emirates. $10 of calling value at 33.34c per minute.
The card has 30 day expiry period.
We found that the Optus $10 prepaid card is better than the traditional calling cards that you often buy at the news agency because it does not have connection fee or other surcharges and you don’t need to call a local access number to get connected.
