CURATOR OF ACADEMIC PROGRAMS Job no: 0039444 Work type: Continuing Location: Parkville Ian Potter Museum of Art Vice Principal (Engagement) Salary: $64,623 - $74,227 p.a. plus 17% superannuation Establishing partnerships between academic and Museum staff, the Curator of Academic Programs will develop curriculum engagement activities directed towards undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of disciplines and teach/co-teach as appropriate. This position requires the capacity to work closely with academic staff in the design and implementation of activities using the University Art Collection and the Potter's exhibitions as teaching and learning tools. The Curator of Academic Programs must have a commitment to the art museum as a centre of research and learning, an understanding of the interdisciplinary character of contemporary tertiary education and the capacity to recruit academic partners to an innovative program. The position requires a flexible approach to work practices including off site meetings, after hours and occasional weekend activities, and the capacity to move comfortably across formal administrative and informal social environments.
