About the role


An opportunity exists at the Lenah Valley Campus, Critical Care Unit (CCU) for a Clinical Nurse Educator seeking the opportunity to provide a diverse range of education and professional support to nurses and staff at Calvary. The Critical Care Unit is moving into an exciting phase, seeing the introduction of Cardiothoracic surgery in Early 2018.

The purpose of this position is to support the CCU Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) in facilitating excellence and quality in care through proactive leadership, education of others, innovative strategic planning and promotion of best practice.

The successful applicant will have the ability to quickly and efficiently provide educational resources and support in a timely manner ensuring that clinical practice promotes and complies with operational strategies in accordance with the mission and values of Calvary Health Care Tasmania.

Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, a commitment to high standards of care and the ability to educate 'on the run' is essential to this role.

What you bring

The sucessful applicant will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and therefore the ability to provide exceptional education delivery , staff leadership and service development.

The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:

Essential:
  • Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, current practicing certificate
  • Relevant post graduate qualification
  • Minimum 3 years relevant clinical experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current nursing issues and practices pertaining to critical care nursing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates a commitment to best practice
  • Demonstrates organisational and management skills
