Salary: $64,623 - $74,227 p.a. (pro rata) plus 17% superannuation  
The Graduate Programs Officer is part of the Graduate Programs Team and
shares teaching and learning portfolios for delivery of the graduate research
and coursework programs (excluding the MD) for the Department of Paediatrics.
Reporting to the Graduate Programs Manager, the Graduate Programs Officer has
a key role administering graduate research programs and, as a member of the
academic programs team, providing support for other graduate programs within
the department.  The Graduate Programs Officer works closely with other
professional and academic staff in the provision of quality support to research
students, particularly with respect to policies and administrative processes
within the University.  The position is the first point of information and
advice for students and supervisors within the Department for matters relating
to student candidature including enrolment, application, progress and
examination. 
Based at the Royal Children's Hospital, the Graduate Programs Officer has an
important role in liaising with staff members of relevant services units within
the University, particularly with the Learning and Teaching Unit and Research
Development Unit of the Faculty, the Academic Services Graduate Research Unit
and the Graduate Research Examinations Offices.  Regular interaction with staff
members of campus partners - the Murdoch Children's Research Institute and the
Royal Children's Hospital is also required.
Working within a team of graduate research and coursework administrators, the
incumbent works to ensure that the department provides effective and efficient
administrative support for all of its postgraduate activities and that its
students and their supervisors have access to the full range of facilities and
opportunities on offer.
