DESCRIPTION

This internship is for those interested and invested in the Australian Music Industry, specifically in the punk, hardcore, and metal music scene. AAA Backstage is an independent online resource showcasing local music and culture in Australia as well as national and international music news, events and interviews.

Duties and Responsibility

  • Write 3-4 news and general interest pieces per week on the heavy music industry (punk/hardcore/metal/and everything in between).
  • Aid in building an online presence by being a contributor on all our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat)
  • Website updates - Uploading and posting daily press, interviews and reviews.
  • Interviews - Conducting interviews with artists that come through Brisbane. These are face to face interviews or phoners or Q&A's
  • Attending music related events representing AAA Backstage

Skills and Experience

  • Studied or studying (2nd year or above) a journalism and/or media & communications degree
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge
  • Able to work independently and communicate within a team
  • A strong desire to develop skills
  • A love for heavy music in any or all of its forms

Work Hours: This job will require you to come into the office one or two full days a week and minimal work from home - This will depend on the right applicants timetable.
