Australian Unity is going through an exciting phase of innovative change with the commissioning of a brand new Aged Care Facility opening its doors in the coastal haven of Mornington in early March 2019.

Racecourse Grange will be a purpose built 120 bed Aged Care Facility that provides state of the art care including designated Care Companions to each resident.

Coupled with our Better Together model, residents will truly be able to partner with teams to create their own care plans, schedules and ensure that they are living their lives the way that they want to.

With the Better Together model and its purpose, the facility will not just be an Aged Care Facility; it will be the resident's home and we are seeking the best talent to make this possible.

The role -

Working across multiple sites, the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for the upkeep and repair of the facility, whilst leading a small team and working in accordance with health and safety guidelines.

What you will be doing -

  • Managing and overseeing the gardening and maintenance across two retirement communities and one aged care residence
  • Provide a range of general gardening and maintenance duties including, but not limited to, basic repair work, mowing lawns, pruning, weeding, window cleaning, general outdoor tidy up and sweeping
  • Ensuring the facility and living environment is presented to a high standard, that is safe for residents
  • Work within health and safety regulations in order to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for both residents and staff, reporting hazards where appropriate
  • Upskill a small team, organising relevant training in accordance with health and safety regulations as well as audit compliant procedures
  • Management of budgets, developing external relationships with external vendors and managing spend as well as creating staff rosters
  • Oversee safety procedures and updates with external vendors including fire alarm checks, fire extinguisher checks and electrical testing to name a few
What we are looking for -

  • Relevant trade qualification
  • Knowledge and understanding of OHS requirements ensuring that safety of residents and staff is paramount at all times
  • A service focussed approach with exposure to an Aged Care setting being desirable
  • Previous people management experience
