The program
Caring for a loved one or friend can be a demanding and sometimes isolating experience.
Red Cross Carer Support groups meet each month to support carers in their caring role. At the groups carers share their experiences, receive specialised information and training and enjoy social interaction while taking a short respite break.
The opportunity
The Community Care Services Volunteers attend Carer group meetings where carers share common experiences and enjoy social interaction while taking a short respite break. Volunteers may facilitate groups, assist Coordinators, or help in setting up and packing up at the venue. Volunteers may also assist in office duties by making calls to carers and various stakeholders, and other administrative duties as required.
As a Community Care Services Volunteer you will be broadening your skills and make connections that can enrich your life.
The impact
As a Community Care Services Volunteer, you'll brighten the life of carers by offering them a safe space to interact, make friendships and receive advocacy and specialised information and training. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World's largest humanitarian network.
