Critical Care RMO and SRMO - 2018 Clinical Year Rotation
Calvary Public Hospital Bruce
Fixed Term, Full Time

Calvary Public Hospital Bruce, a key part of the ACT Health Services Network, is seeking enthusiastic caring doctors at PGY3 or greater to join our Critical Care SRMO rotation.

As a member of this group you will be able to enjoy a variety of experience across Emergency Medicine, Anaesthetics, Intensive Care, and the Acute Medical Unit. This one year rotation has received acclaim in previous years for the high quality of medical education and personalised training.

You will work with our cohesive, patient focussed multi-disciplinary team where your professional development will be fostered in a learning environment that values excellence.

Our hospital is large enough to have a wide array of experiences but small enough that residents don't get 'lost in the crowd'.

These positions are ideal for those considering a vocation in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, Intensive Care or Anaesthetics. The successful applicants will receive a solid grounding in Critical Care and Acute Medicine which is also suitable for those wanting a career in rural General Practice or those who are as yet undecided about their future career direction.

Upon completion of the year, SRMOs will be assisted to apply for accredited Registrar training positions in the critical care area of their choice. Calvary hospital has strong links with the ANU Medical School and our regional tertiary hospital, The Canberra Hospital.

Opportunities also exist for interested SRMOs to develop skills in quality improvement, research and teaching during the year.

What can we offer you?
  • An experienced and interested multidisciplinary team driving a supportive workplace culture
    • Opportunity to put the patient first while acquiring skills under supervision
    • 24/7 consultant and/or registrar supervision in all specialities.
    • A positive approach to work/life balance with flexible rostering.
    • Opportunities for Professional Development
      • Comprehensive orientation and induction programs
      • Regular education from medical specialists
      • Study leave for conference attendance and courses
  • Competitive employment conditions and remuneration
  • Access to generous salary packaging benefits
Applications will only be accepted via the online portal and must include cover letter, CV, response to the selection criteria (found on the position description), two referee contact details, and current AHPRA registration certificate.
