Project Manager - New Product Development

Our client is a fantastic Australian business that has launched their product range into the US and Europe in recent years and they are taking those markets on head on and winning. With a reputation for being stylish and best of breed in terms of function it is a great time to to join their business in this newly created role as Project Manager - New Product Development.

The role on offer

Reporting to the Engineering manager, your role will be to provide:

  • Hands on approach to the management of the delivery for 3 - 6 concurrent New Product Development projects (in Heating division) from start to product launch within the defined metrics.
  • Resource management - allocation of tasks, deadlines and assess team effectiveness
  • Risk management, ensuring mitigation actions are planned and followed through
  • Stakeholder management (and reporting) including management of external project contributors - ensuring effective tracking of issues, resolution and assessment of impact.
  • Develop initiatives to improve the NPD process (quality, productivity and time)

The company is passionate about developing thier people this role will also benefit from those programs. The business also has onsite Gym and end of trip facilities and pays 17.5% leave loading.

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant for this role will possess at least the following:

  • A minimum of 5 years project management in a new product development role where they had to manage simultaneous projects at the same time
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A strong track record in resource planning and management
  • Expert user knowledge of MS PROJECT and Excel
  • Developed skills in people management, specifically can work in a dynamic environment and get the very best performance from individuals.
  • Practical with a strong level of attention to detail. Defining and setting clear level of expectations and accountability in their project teams
  • Excellent communication skills with a capacity to present, discuss and explain issues coherently and logically both in writing and verbally
  • Strong discipline in keeping up to date reports on key project metrics.
  • You are certified in a project Management methodology or have a degree in project management with exposure to Mechanical / Electrical Product Development
