Salary: $64,863 - $88,016 p.a. (pro-rata) plus 17% superannuation

The Melbourne School of Government (MSoG) is seeking a Research Assistant to
investigate research impact and translation in the social sciences, and to
assist with the translation of the School's research findings.
MSoG is a whole of University interdisciplinary School, harnessing the
resources of the University to create and deliver new Masters Programs,
research, executive education and international partnerships. MSoG provides a
platform for informed, independent debate on contemporary issues of great
significance to the future of Australia and our region. By bringing together
expertise from across the University and various disciplines including, but not
limited to, economics, political science, international relations, sociology,
development studies, philosophy and law, the School seeks to unite policy
makers, industry leaders and the citizens through ideas that are both
actionable and provide lasting solutions.

As Research Assistant, you will have two main areas of responsibility. First,
you will coordinate and undertake at least one research project focused on
research translation and impact in the social sciences. Second, reporting to
the Director, Research Translation, MSoG, you will assist in the translation of
the findings of a number of research projects. This second component of the
role will require working with MSoG academic staff, grant recipients and
project associates to translate their research into outputs tailored for
particular stakeholders and the general public.
Your valuable work will enable MSoG to promote research projects in a manner
that ensures highest research impact and best practice knowledge translation.
You will also support the School to better identify and frame potential future
research funding opportunities.  This may involve supporting the coordination
of relevant symposia and engaging in public outreach.
This role is available on a part-time basis (0.8 FTE) for 2 years.
