Social Worker Grade 2 (Acute team)

Part Time - Fixed term until end Nov, 2019

48 hours per fortnight

An enthusiastic and experienced Social Worker is sought to provide Social Work Services to the Acute wards at Ballarat Health Services. This is a fixed term part time position available initially until the end of Nov 2019.

Primary clinical responsibilities include advanced knowledge and experience in undertaking psychosocial assessments, well developed communication skills and the ability to work well in the pursuit of patient and team needs and goals are required. Experience in working in healthcare settings with an emphasis on Acute care would be a highly regarded attribute.

You will enjoy a friendly place to work where there is a strong commitment to providing high quality evidence-based care. There is excellent support from within the Senior and broader Social Work team. Professional development is supported through regular in-service education, supervision in line with AASW requirements and the ability to attend continuing education where appropriate.


  • Ability to adapt, be flexible and learn quickly
  • Ability to work within a fast paced environment whilst maintaining a professional manner
  • Ability to plan and problem solve
  • Demonstrate sound knowledge in Social Work Theory and Practice
  • Working knowledge of Acute and/or Sub-Acute hospital systems and resources
  • All appointments are subject to satisfactory Police Records Check and Immunisation Clearance.
