About​ ​the​ ​role:

The Intern Group is seeking an Experience Coordinator for our Melbourne, Australia program.

 

Our Experience Coordinator will play a crucial role in our program participants’ pre arrival and in-country experience and will ensure that we build upon and maintain the excellent standards that we have set to date. The role is dynamic, personable and requires an ability to work ‘in the field’ and also in an office style environment – it is varied and constantly changing.

 

Hours​: 25-30 hours per week with predicted growth/increased hours over next 6-12 months. This role involves “non-traditional” working hours including nights and weekends. Ability for flexible office hours in-between program event commitments.

Salary​: Competitive with performance related bonuses

Key ​Responsibilities

Program​ ​Feedback​ ​-​ ​

Positive feedback is the lifeblood of our organisation. You will be accountable for ensuring strong feedback from interns and you will use data, insight and

face to face interaction to continuously improve our program. Aside from regular contact with them during their stay, at the end of their program you will meet with them for feedback sessions.

Customer​ ​Service​ ​-

You will be expected to build strong relationships with our participants and work towards improving their experience and resolving any issue or complaint that arises. This will include meeting with the interns and having an emergency phone that interns can contact you on outside of working hours.


Event organisation and cultural awareness –

You will be responsible for organising a variety of events every month, where you will manage social events and actively look for ways to improve programme participants’ time in Melbourne.

 

Marketing/media –

You will be responsible for the maintenance and creative use of The Intern Group Australia’s social media and private groups including Facebook group, public Instagram account and Snapchat.

 

Team Work –

Your opinion will be highly valued within the team and you will be asked to suggest and implement changes.

You will be responsible for understanding your fellow team members’ roles and delegating work to the appropriate team member.

– Previous experience within customer service (student/working with young people experience favoured), event management & or hospitality sector

– Passion for travel and cultural exchange

– Experienced in effective use of time management and prioritising tasks based on varying demands

– Availability to work most weekends and some weeknights on varying schedule
