The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Ballarat Health Services provides inpatient and outpatient services for the women of Ballarat and surrounding regions. Clinics offered in this service include antenatal care, gynaecology, colposcopy, family planning, gestational diabetes and high risk obstetrics care.

The maternity service at Ballarat Health is the birthplace for approximately 1400 births annually and is a level 5 service in the Victorian Maternity Services Capability Framework. Our maternity service cares for women birthing from 32 weeks and is supported by our Special Care Nursery. Ballarat Health Services also has an on site 24 hour Intensive Care Unit, visiting subspecialist Gynaecological Oncologist and subspecialist Urogynaecologist.

Expressions of interest are invited for the currently advertised VMO O&G position. We are looking for an enthusiastic Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join our current team for a twelve month period with a possibility for an exension. It is a 19 hours per fortnight position and payment is at the award level depending on previous experience.

The successful applicant would work in all areas of inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynaecology services on a rotating basis. The unit is well supported by an experienced team of eleven Obstetrician Gynaecologists, five registrars, three of which are RANZCOG accredited, and six junior Hospital Medical Officers.
