Bluethumb: Creative Writing, Social Media & Digital Marketing Internship
Location: Melbourne VIC
We're looking for a Creative Writing, Social Media, Digital and/or Photography Intern to join our marketing and support team at Bluethumb.
About Bluethumb
Founded in 2009, bluethumb is Australia's largest online marketplace that uncovers emerging artists and artwork. Over 2000 Australian artists sell their artwork directly from their studios to art lovers nationwide. Bluethumb has won more than it's fair share of awards from best 'Best E-Commerce app 2014' to Australia's 'best creative startup 2015'.
We are a small team of six in Melbourne, working out of a startup space in Collingwood, and 1 in Adelaide in Majoran. We're a growing company, and we may have a role for a full time Marketing Assistant down the track.
Ideally you'll be able to work almost full-time during your internship, but we'd consider flexible hours to accommodate your studies or other part-time work. We're looking for an art enthused, digital native. Marketing is undertaken by all staff, so the role will be to follow their lead and execute marketing where directed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the staff's general marketing efforts across content marketing, blogging, SEO, social media, email marketing, AdWords
- Interviewing creative folk and writing brilliant articles. Research. engaging our users & potential users, and engaging potential reviewers
- Photography work, taking photos of our featured artists
- Logistics/operational support for customers
We want someone who
- Is studying or studied Marketing/Journalism/Communications/Arts/Computer science/Photography and wants to get great digital marketing experience
- Loves technology and the internet
- Has blogging experience, general website admin experience
- Knows their way around social media, runs a blog/site a big plus
- Any web dev. skills or previous digital marketing experience a plus
- A friendly, confident self-starter, with the initiative to take a project and run with it
- An interest in contemporary art
- Is a confident communicator, who is comfortable picking up the phone and building relationships with people
